Rehema's story

Rehema lives in the Kongowea area of Coast Province, Kenya. She is married and has two children, both of whom are in school. She owns a grocery shop, a business which has been running for seven years.
She learnt about Milango through friends who invited her to the group and she joined with the aim of accessing credit to improve her business operations. Her main challenges are high purchase costs and competition from the established businesses.
Rehema is applying for a loan of 15,850 Kenya shillings to buy grocery stock e.g. potatoes, cooking oil etc. The extra income from the loan will be added to her savings to improve on the living standard of her family, and to pay school fees for her children.
