A loan of $600 helped to buy school supplies.

Maria Alejandrina's story

Maria is 47 years of age. She has three children whom she has raised alone, with great effort and sacrifice, but she is very proud of them. Maria lives in the city of Chincha, which is characterised by its warm climate as well as its beautiful beaches. Maria is a humble woman of good character and above all a determined mother who every day seeks a way to help her family's situation and to help them to get ahead.

Maria works in her business selling food and soft drinks and beers. In one day she can serve up to 20 customers. She believes that her business is going well because she takes good care of her customers, as she likes people to speak of the good service she gives, so more customers seek to buy her products, but also because God protects her and helps her to do things with honesty and respect for others.

Maria is very grateful to the Kiva lenders as with their help she will be able to buy school supplies, as the classes in the schools in the city will begin soon. This way her children will have the necessary materials to be able to go to school without problems. In this way she will continue fighting to be able to continue to advance herself and to keep saving to achieve her big dream: "To give her children a chance at a profession and to have a better location for her business. To have her own home."
