A loan of $575 helped purchase supplies, fertilizer, and chemicals for cultivating coffee.

María Arcely's story

María, 38 years old, is a single mother of a son who is 10 years old. She is from the countryside due to the fact that her family has always lived on Higueron lane in the municipality of La Ceja, Colombia. There she learned agriculture, which is what she dedicates herself to now.

Thirteen years ago she decided to learn her trade together with her father (pictured) on a piece of family land. She planted a crop of coffee, which she sells to the Federation of Coffeegrowers of Antioquia in order to generate her own income and improve her family's financial situation.

Her greatest dream is to be able to expand her crop and create employment opportunities that will allow people to produce the best coffee in their region.

She is now requesting a loan that she will use to purchase supplies, fertilizers, and chemicals in order to improve her production.
