Djiguène Bakhna 61 Group's story

Fatou is the representative of the loan group Djiguène Bakhna 61, which gathers together 5 women who work in retail. She lives in a village located about 22 kilometres from the main town. Fatou is married and has been selling fruit for 15 years; she started at a young age. Every morning at 8 o'clock, she goes to Pout, a village on the road which leads to the capital, to offer her products to travellers. She is requesting this loan to buy mandarins, clementines, melons and other seasonal fruit. She supports her husband with the daily expenses and even manages to save with the revenue generated by her business. In the future, she plans to diversify her business.
