A loan of $225 helped to buy raw material for her embroidery business.

Kanwal's story

Kanwal is a 25 year old married woman. She had a difficult time after her husband's business failure. She decided to work with her husband to support her family for a better future. Two years ago she began hand-embroidery in her house. She makes beautiful embroidery patterns for the people living around her house and uses the income to support her entire family. However, due to lack of availability of funds she is unable to meet the daily demands of her customers. For this reason she contacted Kashf Foundation and applied for a loan of PKR 20,000. She intends to use this money to buy raw material including threads of different colors and packs of sequins, pearls and glittering material. She hopes this will help to create a means of increasing revenues so she may be able to generate a healthier source of income.
