Bernard is a 63-year-old man living in Fort Portal, Uganda. In order to provide for his family, he bought land and started farming. With the proceeds he has been able to pay school fees for his children and expand his farming activities. He has now ventured into poultry farming after assessing a ready market in restaurants and retail shops where he would be assured of a sustainable demand for eggs all year round. Seasonal weather changes affect the business while his dream is to own a big poultry project. Bernard intends to use the loan to buy chicks to sell.
