Indatwa Group's story

Claudine is part of the group Indatwa and lives in Bujumbura. She is 32 years old and married to Emmanuel, a farmer. Together they have six children, from 4 to 15 years old, of whom five are students.

She has been doing commerce in sweet potatoes, cassava, and beans for twelve years.

She is on her second Turame loan. With the KIVA loan she is obtaining, she is going to increase her capital and purchase an additional sack of sweet potatoes. All of her staple products (sweet potatoes, cassava, beans,..) will be sold, so as to earn more.

In the coming years, she would like to do commerce in goats and to meet in a suitable manner the family needs of her children (food, clothing). Besides this, she would like to see her children go to school.
