Kimrat's Group's story

With two school-aged dependent children, Kimrat is a 26-year-old mother who struggles to make a living growing corn. She has been in this business for 10 years and is able to earn up to 22,200 KHR per day. From her current income, she is able to save up to 5,800 KHR each day after expenses.

Kimrat and one of the co-borrowers are in their sixth loan cycle and are requesting a new loan of 1,400,000 KHR each. They have joined with the third group member, who is a first-time borrower, requesting a loan of 1,000,000 KHR. Kimrat has managed her past loans wisely to upgrade her lifestyle and improve her business. She has fully repaid her past loans. As the group leader, Kimrat will use her loan portion to fix her house and get it in better condition. She hopes to own a decent house for her family so that she does not need to worry about her house's condition anymore and so she can pay more attention to her income-generating activities.
