Sina's Group's story

Sina lives in a rural village of the Dambae district of Kampong Cham province, Cambodia. She is 28 years old and married with two children, both of whom are in school in the local area. To support her family, Sina has been working as a farmer growing cassava for more than eight years, while her husband is a paid worker. Her current business earns her about 17,000 KHR per day and she can afford to save 10,000 KHR each day after expenses.

This is Sina’s group loan with Kiva’s partner, VisionFund. Sina has been with VisionFund for two loan cycles. She completely paid back the past loans. Now she is leading her group of two to request a new loan. As the leader, she is going to use her portion to buy fertilizer and pesticides for her cassava planting. With this loan, Sina hopes to grow more healthy cassava to increase her family’s income and to make a living better.
