Teresa Del Milagro
Teresa is 42 years old and lives in the city of Guadalupe which is well known for its warm climate, agriculture and the generosity and happy nature of its people. Teresa is a very hard working woman, above all because she is a single mother and is getting her three children, aged 4, 10 and 14, ahead. For Teresa, her children are the best gift that God has been able to give her and are her reason for continuing to fight everyday despite the adversity that she faces. Teresa was only able to study up to the fifth grade of secondary school because her parents had minimum economic resources. She would have liked to have studied medicine.

Day to day, Teresa works as an employee in the mornings and in the afternoons she sells her goods including tamales, parboiled eggs, corn and cheese, and other items. She passes through the streets of her neighborhood on a tricycle, so that she can have an extra source of income to move her family forward. She belives that she is getting ahead because she is responsible and has a strong desire to improve.

Teresa is very thankful for the support that Kiva lenders are bringing to her because thanks to this help she will be able to buy construction materials including cement, sand, bricks and other items. With these materials she will be able to build a business space and improve her customer service, allowing her to continue fighting to make her most sought after dream come true--to give her children the chance to become professionals.
