Carlos Alberto's story

Carlos is a 44-year-old man who lives in the city of Ica together with his wife and two children who he loves very much and who mean the world to him. Carlos is a very kind, hard-working, enthusiastic person who, together with his wife, works hard to provide for his family. Unfortunately, owing to a lack of financial resources and the need to work from a very early age, he was not able to study for a degree even though he would very much have liked to have done so. In his free time, Carlos enjoys watching television and he sometimes cooks a delicious 'arroz chaufa' (fried rice) to share with his family.

Through his own initiative and armed with a lot of determination and commitment, Carlos works as a motorcycle taxi driver, providing transport services. He also owns a small truck that he rents out to other drivers so that they can work. Carlos works every day for approximately 10 hours. He feels happy in his work and believes that it is going well thanks to the effort he puts in and the kind way in which he deals with his customers.

Carlos is very grateful to Kiva lenders because, thanks to their help, he will be able to refurbish and service his vehicles so that they can remain operational. This will allow him to continue working and striving to fulfill his biggest dream of owning his own transport business.
