A loan of $500 helped to buy farming supplies.

José Luís's story

José is 33 years old, married and has two children. He has been a farmer since he was eight years old because his father always told him that he needed to learn. He also learned to drive farming machinery, thanks to a friend he met when he was 14. Now this is his source of income; operating heavy machinery. When he has free time he and his friends go to the sea to fish so that there is no shortage of food in his home. When he goes to farm he must walk for an hour to reach his farmland.

He will use the money from this loan, through Fundación Campo, to rent 7,000 square meters of land, to buy half a sack of corn seed and three sacks of fertilizer. This investment will help him greatly, because he had some difficulties and he used all of his money on planting. He will be able to plant more with the money from this loan, so that there will be food in the home. He wants to buy four cows so he can have his own stable and so that his sons can go to school and have professional careers because he didn’t have that opportunity.
