To earn a living, Ali works as a façades in his area. His job is the family’s main source of income, but he does not earn enough to provide all the needs of his family.

Currently they live in a house which is in need of renovation. Due to the high cost of electricity, they want to façade their house in order to save costs on heating in the winter. Ali is requesting a loan to buy a new door, windows for the renovating and to façade the house. This loan will help Ali and his family to improve their living conditions.

Roma people and ethnic Serbians have historically faced a tremendous amount of hardship in Kosovo, and are still socioeconomically and politically vulnerable. During the 1998-1999 war, the fighting displaced 250,000 people. Among those displaced were an estimated 80-90% of the region’s Roma population. Today, Roma and ethnic Serbians living in Kosovo still face discrimination and are excluded from many aspects of society, including fair political representation and high rates of unemployment. By supporting this loan you are helping provide opportunity to marginalized populations.
