A loan helped a member to buy ingredients such as flour to make bread.

Los Vecinos Group's story

The entrepreneur bank called LOS VECINOS is comprised of nine members, all women. The president of the group is Margoth, 21, who lives with her common-law husband. She makes and sells bread for a living. She has been running a bakery for two years in the town of Cabezas. This is her second loan through the institution and the previous loan was used for her business.

Margoth will use the loan to buy ingredients such as flour, yeast and shortening to make bread. She plans to buy the goods wholesale, making them cheaper. The challenges Margoth is up against are: increasing her customer base and generating more income. She will use the profit to improve her family's quality of life.

In this group: Rosa Margoth, Margoth, Ericka, Vera Lucia, Nancy, Esther, Ynes, Karin Ybana, Victoria
