Umwete Iii Group's story

Juvenal is a member of the Umwete III group and lives in Ngozi. He is 35 years old and married to Jeannette, a produce farmer. They have five children from one to 11 years of age, two of whom are in school.

He has been selling sweet potatoes, local beer and manioc (cassava) for 15 years. He also works as a farmer.
He is on his second loan with Turame. He will use his Kiva loan to bolster his capital and stock up on sweet potatoes and manioc as well as bananas to prepare large quantities of local beer for resale, to increase his earnings. In the years to come, he would like to buy a plot of arable land and provide for his children’s studies.
