Luisa Flora's story

Luisa, 43, lives in the city of Camaná with her husband and two small children, whom she loves and are her main reason for living. She is a very friendly, hard-working, and enthusiastic person who, together with her husband, puts all her effort into advancing her family. Unfortunately, due to a lack of economic resources and having to work to meet expenses, Luisa was not able to study a degree, but she would have liked to do so. In her free time, she likes to go to the beach and sometimes she cooks a delicious "lomo saltado" (sirloin stir-fried with red onions and tomatoes) to share with her family.

On her own initiative, with a lot of effort and dedication, Luisa works in her small business selling groceries. She works every day starting very early in the morning, and she may work for 10 hours. Luisa is comfortable in her job, and believes that it is going well for her because of her good prices and the friendly way she treats her customers. Luisa is very grateful to Kiva lenders, because thanks to the help they have provided, she will be able to buy a greater quantity of merchandise such as rice, sugar, vegetable stews, oil, drinks, sweets, and other things. This way, Luisa's business will be better stocked and she can serve more customers. So she will continue working and striving to achieve her big dream of improving her family's quality of life.
