A loan of $775 helped to buy food products for her store and to pay her children's school expenses.

Gersenia Malesca's story

Gersenia is 41 years old and a single mother with three children. She lives in a suburban neighborhood of San Pedro Sula.

Thirteen years ago, she started her own grocery business where she sells basic household products such as meat, basic grains, vegetables, donuts, canned goods, soft drinks, sugar, flour, and other items. Gersenia also sells miscellaneous goods and school supplies. This business serves as a source of income for sustaining her family.

Gersenia decided to invest a loan of 15,000 HNL in the purchase of food products to restock her business. Part of the loan will also be used to cover her children’s school expenses. Her future plans include acquiring a vehicle for her work and making improvements to her home.
