A loan of $625 helped construct a building in order to renovate his house in the village.

El Hadji's story

Mr El Hadji lives in Senegal and is a married man who sells goods for a living. He sells prayer beads at a highly frequented mosque in the local community. He has worked in this field for over ten years. He is a member of one of the U-IMCEC microfinance groups and has already received three loans. He is currently seeking a 300,000 CFA loan which he wishes to use in order to renovate his home in the town in which he was born, and where his family still lives. His dream for the future is to build up his family home and also to purchase a spot in town from which to conduct his business.
