A loan of $3,975 helped a member to buy more drinks to sell.

Tugeme Group's story

Gladys, who is in her late 30s, is married and has three children who go to school. For three years now, Gladys has been running two different business activities: selling drinks (beers and spirits) and raising broilers. She is really hardworking. She works from 8am to 5pm daily and is able to make a very good profit per month. This will be her seventh loan from Tujijenge Tanzania. She used the previous loans to buy a TV, to buy a plot of land where she started building a house, to pay household expenses, and to pay school fees. She has paid back all of her loans successfully. She will use this loan to buy more drinks. Her dream is to one day be able to sell more beers. She will share this loan with her loan group Tugeme, which totals 14 members. The members of the group will hold each other accountable for paying back the loan.
