A loan of $600 helped to cover her son's school expenses.

Cinthia Paola's story

Cinthia, 26, lives in the city of Ica with her husband and her two year old son, both of whom she loves and who are her principal reason for living. She is very friendly, hardworking and enthusiastic. Together with the support of her spouse, she works to get her family ahead. Thanks to her hard work and the support of her parents, Cinthia was able to get a degree in Education. In her free time she likes to read a little bit and sometimes cooks Carapulcra con Sopa Seca [a pork and potato stew with noodles] to share with her family. By her own initiative, and with a lot of dedication and tenacity, Cinthia works as a primary school teacher at a school in her city. She starts every day early in the morning and can work for up to 11 hours. She is happy doing her work and believes that her patience and good treatment of her students make it go well. Cinthia is very grateful to the Kiva lenders, since thanks to their help she will be able to cover the cost of her young son's education, who will soon start school. She has to pay his enrollment fees and buy his supplies. This way Cinthia can keep working. Soon she would like to do a certification course to update her knowledge. Cinthia hopes to achieve her greatest dream of finishing construction on their home.
