A loan of $775 helped to buy work tools.

Jose Luis's story

José is a 30-year-old man, who lives in the city of Camaná with his two children. His love for them drives everything he does. He is a very friendly, hardworking, and enthusiastic person. He dedicates all of his effort to helping his family get ahead. Unfortunately, José was not able to continue his studies through high school, though he would have liked to since he dreamed of studying a professional career.

In his free time, José enjoys watching movies and on special occasions he cooks a delicious Saltado de Repollo (a typical Peruvian dish with sautéd cabbage) for his family. By his own initiative and with much hard work and dedication, José works as a master builder in various places in his city. He works each day from the early hours of the morning through ten-hour work days. He enjoys this work and believes it has gone so well for him because of the good-quality work he does.

José is very grateful for this Kiva loan. It will enable him to buy work tools, such as a wheelbarrow, buckets, pickaxes, hammers, and others. These will help him in his business so he can continue working hard to achieve his dream of expanding his business.
