Las Viacheñas De Soboce Group's story

The communal bank “Las Viacheñas de Soboce” will start their first loan cycle with Pro Mujer. They are working with one of the organizations regional offices in Cascada. The group is made up of seven members and has a board of directors with Francisca as the president. The members of the communal bank engage in different business activities such as blanket crafting, food sales, blanket weaving, skirt making, milk and cheese sales and shoe sales.

The loan requested will benefit micro-businesses such as Francisca’s. She says that she is a new member of Pro Mujer and that she joined because the organizer of the association visited her at home and asked to her to join. She currently has a business making blankets. She says that she used to help her mother in the family business and that is how she learned this business.

She will use the loan to increase her capital. She will purchase materials for making blankets at the market in the city of El Alto. After they are made she will sell them on request. This work allows her to generate income so she and her spouse can maintain their household

When asked what she likes about Pro Mujer, she said that she likes the health and loan training classes.
