Annet is a single mother with three children and two of her children go to school. She also takes care of additional family members (her mother). She has a business selling cold drinks like passion fruit juice, mineral water and sodas. She has been in this business for two years selling to all categories of people, on a retail basis only. She works at the market seven days out of every week. She has applied for a loan of 500,000 Uganda shillings from MCDT-SACCO to buy more boxes of mineral water, crates of sodas, bags of passion fruit and sugar.
Annet's major business challenges include seasonality and defaulters. She is aspiring of opening another branch at the market selling cold drinks and also wants to build rental rooms. She resides in a rented house and the family has access to electricity and piped water. Her monthly expenses include paying for utility bills and rent.
