Sophoer is aged 23 years and married. She is a citizen from a rural village of Pursat province’s Bakan district. She has one daughter. She has worked hard as a rice farmer to better feed her family. The current business earns her about 20,000 KHR per day to meet the family’s needs.
This is the fourth loan for Sophoer with VisionFund. She completely paid back the past loans. She has successfully used loans to better support her current business. Now she is asking for a new loan of 2,500,000 KHR to buy a plot of land and use a portion of it to spend on running a new business as a grocery seller in a local area to earn extra income for her family.
Sophoer hopes this loan will enable her to increase her income and make a better living.
About VisionFund Cambodia
VisionFund Cambodia is a Christian organization and microfinance institution that provides small loans and other financial services to improve the lives of children, empower poor women and their families, and grow successful businesses. The organization works primarily in rural parts of Cambodia and has distinguished itself by targeting the very poor who require smaller loan sizes, regardless of religious beliefs, gender or ethnic background.
Kiva lenders’ funds will help the organization to expand into the northeastern provinces of the country, which have historically been underserved and difficult to reach with financial services.
