Swaibu's story

Swaibu is married with four children who are all school going. He is a hardworking man involved in many businesses to see that his family gets to eat. Swaibu is involved in peasantry farming as well trade in agricultural produce mainly maize, ground nuts and beans. The area where he lives is predominantly known for producing much of these products (produce). He has been in this business for the last nine years and he is always challenged by the changing weather conditions, which affect agricultural production, plus the price fluctuations on the market. Swaibu wants a loan of 1,500,000 UGX to buy more produce (beans, maize and ground nuts) for trade so that he can realize good returns at the end of the season. Swaibu has a dream of acquiring more land, venturing into commercial farming, and seeing the living standard of his family improve. He is confident the lender will give him a hand to see his dream come true. In the photo is Swaibu with the Ugafode credit officer in a tie.
