A loan helped a member to buy supplies to make handicrafts.

Superacion Group's story

Mrs. Paula, 62, is married. She has nine children, two of them are studying; she could not study herself. Paula is an artisan: she makes jars, pots, “comales” [a flat griddle to cook food], pans, etc. in clay. She started this business ten years ago while she worked as an assistant with another woman. Her husband supports her with his job in agriculture.

Paula started a group and is requesting a loan to buy dyes, needed to improve the production process of plates, vases, pots and clay "subales" [a utensil used for steaming]. She hopes to have several employees in the future and several establishments. The remaining members weave clothes, raise livestock, or are housekeepers or artisans.

In this group: Isabel Osorio, Paula, Maria Victoriana, Francisca, Santos Petrona, Santa, Marta, Juana, Macaria Santos, Sebastiana, Maria Angelina
