A loan of $10,000 helped to renovate her barber shop, purchase new chairs, and hire additional stylists.

Rebecca's story

After working for seven years for another barber shop, Rebecca realized that the moment was right to establish a shop of her own. The opportunity quickly presented itself – she received an offer to take over an existing barber shop in Hagerstown, Maryland. Rebecca accepted the offer, and in 2006 she established Becky’s Barber Shop. Currently, Rebecca is the owner-operator and works by herself. Her immediate goal is to grow her business. A loan of $10,000 will allow Rebecca to renovate her shop, purchase additional chairs, and hire one or two stylists. In the future, Rebecca hopes to purchase her own commercial space for the barber shop.
