A loan of $375 helped to buy fishing nets.

Jose Alejandro's story

José, age 54, is a fisherman. He has four children. Two of them go to school, and the other two, twins, are still little. He says that he has lived in the Isletas de Granada since he was little. His parents raised him among boats and fishing nets. That is why it is the only trade he learned in order to survive. That is how he and his children survive.

He goes to the city of Granada to sell his freshwater fish. Summertime is close, and there is a constant flow of tourists. He wants to take advantage of the high season is order to sell more.

He needs to buy fishing nets because the ones that he now has do not work. He needs to work with tools that are in good condition. That is what he will use the loan for.

Another one of his projects is to be able to buy a boat with a new motor. He wants to do this in order to be able to hire other people to get a greater volume of his products.
