Sang'alo F Group's story

Sang'alo F is a group of 11 farmers in Bungoma South District represented by Edward. The group has eight women and three men. Edward is on the right of the photo with his hand raised. Farming inputs consisting of the necessary materials to plant ½ acre of maize, millet and sorghum will be delivered to him on credit. Edward first enrolled with One Acre Fund during the 2006 Long Rains and is now preparing to be a One Acre Fund farmer during the 2013 Long Rains season. Edward joined One Acre Fund in order to grow enough food for the family and use increased profits to send his children to school.

Edward described his harvest as good last year as a One Acre Fund farmer and hopes for another good year in the 2013 Long Rains season. He hopes that his profits from the 2013 Long Rains season can be used to send his children to school and save for the future. For the 2013 Long Rains season, Edward’s group members will take input loans of ½ acre each. In total, this group will receive input loans for use on 5 1/2 acres of land.
