Veronica's story

Veronica B. is forty-five years old. She is married and has given birth to five children. She is a petty trader who sells tomatoes, palm oil, yams, plantain, vegetables, beans, and maize from a table in the local market. She sells multiple commodities with the hope that when the sale of one goes down the others will sell to give her good profit. She is however convinced that her business can grow better with increased capital and therefore wants the loan to buy more tubers of yams, baskets of tomatoes and onions, bags of maize and beans. Iincreasing her stock will provide a bigger income to finance her children’s education. Currently, three of them have completed senior high school.

She belongs to the community group called Timothy Trust Group. In this group, members guarantee for one another as social collateral to access loan.
