Gladys is 35 years old, divorced, and has five children. She is a resident of Kawempe, a Kampala surburb. She sells second-hand clothing in the market to support her family members, which she has been doing for 13 years.
Gladys is requesting a loan for 500,000 UGX, which she will use to pay tuition fees for her children. Her main challenge is the competition from her fellow traders who sometimes sell at cheaper prices. She hopes to borrow more money from UGAFODE to be able to expand her business into a wholesale shop so that she can earn more income and buy a plot of land and build a home for her family.
