Irenea is 49 years old, married, and has six children. Irenea works hard to provide for her family. She runs a sari-sari (variety) store in the Philippines and has applied for a PHP 15,000 loan through NWTF to buy items such as shampoo and groceries to sell in her store. Irenea has borrowed and repaid five loans from NWTF before this loan. She has been running the general store for 25 years and also earns an income from food vending.
Irenea aspires to save enough money so that she will be able to afford to send her children to college.

(NWTF) is a non-governmental organization established with an aim to help men and women achieve self-sufficiency, particularly in the province of Negros Occidental’s low-income communities. The organization offers its clients a wide variety of products, including loans for micro-entrepreneurs, hospital income benefits, life insurance, accidental death benefits and more. Kiva lenders’ funds will be used to expand the reach of these products to low-income urban and rural communities.
