Florence is 38 years old, married, and has six children who are currently going to school. Florence is in the agricultural business, farming vegetables in the Philippines. Florence requested a PHP 15,000 loan through NWTF to buy seed, fertilizers and other farm supplies. Florence has been growing vegetables for 15 years, and she has borrowed from NWTF eight times in the past to sustain the farm. In the future, Florence would like to save enough money so she can afford to finish her children’s college education.

(NWTF) is a non-governmental organization established with an aim to help men and women achieve self-sufficiency, particularly in the province of Negros Occidental’s low-income communities. The organization offers its clients a wide variety of products, including loans for micro-entrepreneurs, hospital income benefits, life insurance, accidental death benefits and more. Kiva lenders’ funds will be used to expand the reach of these products to low-income urban and rural communities.
