A loan of $225 helped a member to buy sheep.

Sandiguème Group's story

The Sandiguème group is made up of two women. They are both married with children. They got together to give each other mutual support in their sheep fattening businesses. They purchase sheep at low prices, share them out, and sell them at the local market after seven months of fattening. They manage to obtain fairly substantial incomes which enable them to provide for themselves and for their families. The leader of the group (on the right in the photo) has two children. She fattens her livestock at home and gives her husband considerable help with the expenses and upkeep of their family. She requests a loan of 100 000f to buy sheep.
