Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

A loan of $450 helped a member to buy fertilizer and seeds for her farmland.

Sokha's Group's story

Sokha, 37, lives in a rural area of the Ek Phnom district of Battamabng province. She is married with four children, who are all still in school. The family’s main sources of income are from farming rice and her husband's fishing. She has been in this business for ten years. Her family’s daily income is about 20,000KHR per day. Sokha has been with VisionFund for three cycles and completely paid back her past loan, which helped to relieve her family's burden and improve their livelihood. To support her business, she is leading her group of two in this loan request. As the leader, she is going to use her portion to buy fertilizer and seeds for her farmland as well as to fund the plowing of the field. She hopes to increase her rice crop and sell it for a good price. Her dream is to run a new grocery business to earn more additional income.
