A loan of $950 helped to buy feed for her livestock.

Catalina's story

Catalina, 49 years old and married with 5 children, lives in the countryside. She is very humble with only a primary education, and works in the field cultivating beans and corn and raising cattle (in the region of Bálsamo on the outskirts of Boaco).

Her parents also worked in agriculture and livestock, so she grew up around these activities. In fact, it is because of this work that she has been able to survive. Her husband also dedicates himself to the field and in doing so both of them work together to get their family ahead. The land that they work was inherited from her father, and she has successfully taken advantage of it to be the source of support for her family.

Catalina is asking for this loan in order to be able to buy feed for the animals, in order to have a large inventory of food to be able feed them during the summer - the season when grass is scarce and she needs to have her animals in good and healthy condition.

Catalina hopes to one day improve her humble home, and buy land in order to bequeath to her children.
