Juan Ramon's story

Juan is a humble, 39 year old fisherman and father of six with an entrepreneurial spirit. He is originally from the Las Peñitas community in the outskirts of Leon. In addition to fishing, he has a small grocery store in his home. He opened this business as a means to bring other forms of income because fishing is seasonal and his family needs to eat and be clothed. His children must study so he finds ways to fight poverty. He hopes to improve the products at his store as there are not many other stores in his area but they are necessary. Despite having a small business, he still has frequent visitors looking for products.

He is seeking financing to purchase oil, beans, rice, sugar, soap, detergents, bread, eggs, milk, and salt. Little by little he hopes to keep introducing more products at his store. One of his future goals is to purchase a new boat so that he can fish in better conditions.
