A loan of $200 helped to buy instruments to work as a topographer.

Juan's story

Juan, 23, is single and has no children. He lives in a house built of solid materials, which he rents. With the support of his parents he managed to complete his studies in topography in an institute in his town, earning an income that later will allow him to become an independent young man. He has worked as a public employee for three years, doing work in topography and other services with a team of professionals in the field in different parts of town. He says he has always wanted to be a professional and he enjoys writing the corresponding reports. As the job requires a variety of instruments and materials, he wants to count on his financial institution so he can make the purchase. In the long term he aims to continue working in his own business. For now, however, he needs to have 500 nuevos soles [PEN] to buy tools and other measuring instruments to continue with his job as a topographer.
