A loan of $950 helped to buy four calves.

Juan Antonio's story

Juan, 54, is a native of the rural community Tierra Colorado, located on the outskirts of Teustepe. He is married and the father of six children, all of whom are independent adults. As a farmer, he works in the cultivation of beans. He began this labor at the age of 14, growing beans for family use. After getting married, he decided to become independent and continue with this same farming activity. Nowadays, thanks to his arduous daily work and effort, he has managed to buy cows. Also, he has managed to buy more land. He receives other income such as the money that his children send him from Costa Rica. He sells his products in the same community to avoid further expenses.

He is requesting this loan to buy four calves with the goal of increasing his livestock fattening to then sell at a better price. His future plans are to repay his loan with his livestock sales and remaining earnings, and to improve his estate's infrastructure as to provide better maintenance for his livestock.
