Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

John B's story

This is 52-year-old John. He is married and has three children aged 6, 12 and 18. He has one additional dependent (a niece) who lives with him to help with her education. In 2010, John established his printing services business. He began his business because he wanted to improve the learning in schools and be self-reliant. His business is located in the outskirts and his main customers are learning institutions. Working 6 days a week and 8 hours a day, he earns about Le 1,260,000 every month from this business. He would like a loan of Le 3,000,000. John has already received and successfully repaid three loans and now requires a new loan to buy A4 papers and a printing cartridge. He hopes that this loan can improve the production of more textbooks for schools. In the future, John plans to improve the business and add a numbers of printers to increase production. He thanks you for your support.
