A loan of $425 helped to buy feed for his livestock such as concentrated livestock feed, molasses and vitamins, as well as other supplies need for his farm.

Jose Luis's story

José is 46 years old and is originally from the region of Asedades, just outside of Teustepe. He is married, is the father of three children between the ages of 12, 15 and 22, and is a farmer who dedicates himself to planting corn and wheat. He began his agricultural activity when he was 30 years old because he needed a way to provide for his family. Today, José is in charge of maintaining his pastures, but he is not only in charge of taking care of the land; he also sows corn, beans and wheat and takes care of his cattle, which he has been buying with his harvest earnings. He says that when he harvests his crops, he sells them in the same region in order to minimize costs.

José is applying for financial aid to buy feed for his livestock, such as concentrated livestock feed, molasses, vitamins, and other supplies for his farm. He feels that this loan will help him buy all the necessary products to be able to take care of his animals and will also allow him to repair his fence to keep his cattle from escaping. His future plans include paying off the loan after selling his harvest, and with the remaining earnings buy an irrigation system and a lawn mower.
