Wilson has been married to Julieta for more than nine years. They have one son who is in school, and the past three years they have lived in the eastern part of Colomi above the Cochabamba-Santa Cruz highway. Wilson and his wife are farmers who grow potatoes and lima beans on his parents land in the community of Liquintaya. They tell us that awhile ago they went abroad to Spain, leaving their son with Wilson's parents, so they could improve their financial situation and earn a better living, but it went so badly they returned and only could buy a plot of land for a home. They are requesting the loan to pay for construction work to build the second story of their home. They want to finish building it as soon as possible so they can live more comfortable and always have a better life in the future.

About Housing Loans

Many poor families cannot afford housing that meets their needs. When you make a housing loan on Kiva, you give people access to flexible capital to obtain or improve their homes. Better housing means better health, sanitation, and even educational outcomes for children. A house can also be much more for entrepreneurs who run businesses out of their homes. In this way, housing and small business loans on Kiva share a common purpose: to alleviate poverty and enable families to enjoy more stable lives.
