Bulondo B Group's story

Augustine is a member of Bulondo B Group in Bungoma South District. He is pictured with 14 One Acre Fund farmers: 11 women and 3 men.

Augustine is standing on the right with his hand raised. He is receiving an input loan for ½ acre of maize, millet, and sorghum cultivation. Augustine first enrolled with One Acre Fund during the 2010 Long Rains reason and is now preparing to be a One Acre Fund farmer during the 2013 Long Rains season. He joined One Acre Fund in order to grow enough food for his family and learn new farming skills.

Augustine described his harvest as excellent last year as a One Acre Fund farmer and hopes for another good year in the 2013 Long Rains season. He plans to use the money that he earns from his next harvest to send his children to school and save for the future.

For the 2013 Long Rains season, Augustine’s group members will take input loans of ½ acre each. In total, this group will receive input loans for use on 7 acres of land.
