Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

A loan of $425 helped to buy ingredients with which to make doughnuts.

Serge Bruno's story

Serge is a 31-year-old man who is married and the father of 2 children. He has been selling doughnuts in a district of town for a year. He is requesting this loan so that he can buy ingredients (flour, sugar, yeast, doughnut trimmings) in order to raise his moderate inventory level and increase his sales and profits. Some of the profit generated will be reinvested in his business and the rest will be used to satisfy his family's needs (his children's education, food and healthcare).
