Pov is 49 years old. She is widowed and resides with four children in Takeo Province, Cambodia. She has been cultivating rice and fattening up animals for more than 10 years, earning approximately $2 daily. Two of her children are employed in a garment factory. They earn about $6 each day. In order to improve her family’s finances, Pov requests a loan of $750 to purchase a cow to breed and produce a calf to sell. By doing so, she would earn more income for the family. In the future, she would like to expand the business and help her children earn bachelor’s degrees. Moreover, she hopes to rebuild her house to make it much stronger and more comfortable for the family.
