Las Mariposas De Jp Group's story

The "Maripositas JP" group is starting its first loan cycle with Kiva partner Pro Mujer from the Juan Pablo II center. The group consists of six members, and it has a board of directors with Nora as president. The members make a living through a variety of businesses, like selling cocoa, sewing, knitting, selling skirts, selling plants and being a construction assistant. The loan will help these small-businesswomen. This is the first loan for Nora, who was invited to join by a fellow member of the institution. She currently has a business sewing sweatshirts, which she learned from watching her mother and then established her own work space. She plans to use the loan to increase her capital and purchase fabrics at the trade fairs in the city of La Paz, and to use them to sew her products to sell at her sales post. This will help her generate revenue to provide for her household, since she is a single mother with a son. When asked what she likes about Pro Mujer, Nora says that she likes the repayment meetings.
