A loan of $875 helped to buy two cows.

Arcadio's story

Arcadio, a humble farmer of 42 years of age, from the Cacao area on the outskirts of Teustepe, is married and a father of 2 children between the ages of 8 and 15 years old. At present both of his children are studying.

He works in agriculture, sowing maize, beans and tomatoes. He has been doing this for 15 years. He started doing this kind of work when he was very young, helping his mother with the sowing. Now he has cows and the land that he works he purchased with the money he earned from his crops. He hires labourers to carry out work.

He always takes his harvest to sell in Managua, where they pay better prices for grain. On this occasion Arcadio is requesting the loan to buy two cows. He will sell them at a better price. He will use the earnings from the sale to improve his income, which he can then use to continue investing in his crop for harvest.
