A loan of $375 helped to buy manure, fuel for the irrigation generator, and fertilizers, and to pay for labor.

Francisco Jose's story

Sixty-five year old Francisco hails from the rural community of Boquerón, on the outskirts of Teustepe. He is married and has 6 grown children. He is a farmer and has made his living planting chillies for 10 years. He plants his crop on a piece of land that was given to him, and has increased his landholdings little by little with great effort and hard work, in order to expand his planting area.

When he is not growing chillies, he makes his living planting corn in order to increase his earnings and get a better income. He sells his chili harvest in Managua, where they give him a good price.

He is in need of financing to buy manure, fuel for his irrigation generator, and fertilizers, and to pay for labor for sowing his chili crop, with the aim of increasing his chili production with each crop. His next goal is to be able to repay the loan in order to apply for another one.
