A loan of $1,375 helped purchase organic fertilizer for her crops and balanced feed for her animals.

Antonia's story

Antonia is 49 years old. She is a hardworking woman who lives with her husband of 16 years, Moisés. They have 6 children together, 3 of whom still live with them in their own home.

She feels blessed that her husband supports her and that he helps her whenever he is able. They both work in agriculture. While her husband works as a laborer, she cares for their 8 cows and 3 bulls. She also milks the cows and sells the milk to the residents of their village. In addition to the balanced feed and vitamins that she feeds her animals to keep them healthy and to aid in good milk production, she secretly plants alfalfa to feed them. She also plants corn and potatoes on land that she rents. When it is time to harvest her crops, she sells them to wholesale buyers who request her corn in particular. She wants to buy her own piece of land so she can be independent. She belongs to a supportive group called “Barrio Oriental” and this is their 18th loan with MFP. She is grateful for all the support she has received to help her reach her goals. She is committed to making her payments. She is also happy to be a part of this group and has known them for many years.

Antonia will use her loan to buy organic fertilizer to spread on her crops as well as balanced feed for her animals.
