A loan of $500 helped to buy a closet.

Antonia's story

Antonia, 27, lives with her husband and their 2 children, aged 4 and 2. Her husband has been working as a salesman for a company since 2007.

Antonia has a business washing and ironing clothes for families in her community. She charges them $3.00 for a dozen pieces of clothing. She has been doing this kind of work for more than 5 years. Previously, she worked as a domestic.

Antonia will invest this loan in a closet, which is something she doesn't have in her home, so that she can keep her garments neat. She will also buy a dining table that her family and visitors to the home can use.

It's worth mentioning that 2 years ago the family was living with her in-laws, but because of big sacrifices they have managed to build their home out of cement blocks. Even though the house is not yet finished, it is important for them to have some furniture in the house to keep things neat and tidy.

In the future, Antonia wants to get a loan to put in a cement floor, because they currently have a dirt floor. She also wants to start up a business selling clothing once her youngest daughter turns 6.
